West Coast Americana

A growing collection of literate contemporary folk and rock and roll

Over the past decade,  Bay Station's Crooks & Copeland have released a collection of both full-length and EP recordings) including  Your Own Reaction (under their former name KCDC) .a 10-song collection of Americana and rock drawing on their literary chops and post-punk and twang tendencies. 2016’s Go Out and Make Some is a true melting pot of Americana, blues, jazz and rock and roll, with songs about love, lust, sandy beaches, dusty roads, wandering holy men, wolf birds and more. In the spring of 2018 they released a 10-song follow-up, Other Desert Cities, inspired by the strange, poetic and distinctly American stories of desert denizens. 2021's Beyond the Safe and Sound and 2023's Shapeshifter reflect their pandemic experience and explore the challenge of living amid a climate crisis. As a precursor to their next full-length project, they released a single 'Cosmic Test' in 2024.

“Deborah Crooks and Kwame Copeland, the duo behind the Alameda based band, Bay Station, write songs that turn the everyday events that shape lives into poetry.” j.poet, East Bay Express
